Lonis Loses a Stack

Level 4 : Blinds 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Jesse Lonis took a tumble to 147,000 after getting caught in a battle from the blinds against Eelis Parssinen. The players were already on the 910104K river with a pot of around 250,000 and Lonis was in the small blind. Lonis checked to Parssinen who moved out a sizeable river bet, and Lonis mucked his hand, losing a big chunk of his stack early in the day.

The next hand saw Ian Matakis open to 15,000 from under the gun and Gruffudd Pugh-Jones called from the hijack. Lonis called on the button and Parssinen defended the small blind.

The players were dealt the 3QQ flop and action checked around the table to let all players see the 3 turn. Action went to Parssinen who asked for the pot size before betting out 21,000. That was enough for all players to fold and let him pick up the pot.

Soon after, Lonis opened to 17,000 from the cutoff and only Matakis called from the big blind.

A 9QA flop saw Matakis check and Lonis bet out 28,000. Matakis made a quick fold, allowing Lonis to regain some of his stack.
