Cowen Raises Winter

Sean Winter opened to 150,000 from the hijack and Robert Cowen called from the big blind.
"Shall we check it down?" asked Winter.
"Sure," replied Cowen.
However, that's not quite what happened. Cowen checked on the Q♣8♥3♠ flop and Winter continued for 275,000. Cowen made it 1,200,000 and Winter quickly folded.
"Top and bottom?" Winter enquired.
Cowen said he didn't and that he had actually misread his hand after putting in the check-raise.
Winter tried to guess Cowen's hand a few more times, but the Brit denied each suggestion.
