Rarung Doubles Through Thurlow

Level 12 : 1,200/2,400, 0 ante

Ben Thurlow had raised to 20,000 and was met with a re-raise to 65,000 from Adrian Rarung.

"No shame in folding," said Rarung, as Thurlow was agonising over his decision.

"I just can't fold," Thurlow replied, before making the call.

The flop came {9-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{6-Spades} and Thurlow bet enough to put Rarung all in. Rarung called with 27,200 behind.

Rarung: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}{10-Spades}{4-Spades}
Thurlow: {k-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}

The board ran out the {7-Hearts} and {2-Spades} and Rarung was awarded the pot with his higher pair.

Xie Doubles Through Gupta

Level 12 : 1,200/2,400, 0 ante

A big pot played out on the feature table that saw Hong Xie earn a full double at the expense of Ash Gupta, with Xie (cutoff) and Gupta (button) getting into it pre-flop, which is when all the chips went in.

Hong Xie: {k-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{10-Clubs}
Ash Gupta: {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}

Xie was at risk and up against Gupta's single suited aces, but the poker gods were on his side, at least this time, with the runout coming {5-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{8-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} to award Xie the pot.

Benson Eliminated by Gupta

Level 12 : 1,200/2,400, 0 ante

Ash Gupta raised to 7,200 and was called by Malcolm Trayner. Gary Benson then moved all in for his remaining 12,700. Both Gupta and Trayner called.

The flop came {7-Spades}{q-Clubs}{5-Spades} and Gupta continued for 18,000. Trayner mucked.

Gupta: {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{9-Spades}
Benson: {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}

Benson was unable to improve after the board ran out the {7-Clubs} and {q-Hearts} sending him home in the second level of play.

Foster Eliminated by Suchanek

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 0 ante

Thomas Foster called from the cutoff before Jan Suchanek raised to 8,000 from the small blind. Foster then three-bet to 26,000. Suchanek didn't seem overly pleased but put out a four-bet that had Foster covered. Foster called with just over 50,000 behind.

Suchanek: {k-Hearts}{q-Spades}{q-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}
Foster: {k-Clubs}{k-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}

The board ran out {8-Spades}{9-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{j-Clubs}, improving Suchanek to trip jacks and the winning hand, sending Foster to the rail.

Giannakelos Busts Hertzog

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 0 ante

The 41 returning survivors have been whittled down to 36, with Jack Hertzog the latest casualty. Hertzog was returning as one of the shorter stacks with 59,200 and had dropped a few of these chips already when the following hand came up.

Hertzog's final hand saw him limp from middle position, with Christos Giannakelos raising to 7,000 from the big blind. Hertzog called and the duo saw a flop of {5-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} hit the felt.

Giannakelos continuation bet 10,000 and Hertzog moved all-in for another 28,200 more. After asking for a count, Giannakelos slid out the call and the pair turned over their hole cards.

Christos Giannakelos: {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}
Jack Hertzog: {j-Clubs}{10-Spades}{9-Hearts}{5-Clubs}

Hertzog was in front with two pair, but the {a-Diamonds} turn and {q-Diamonds} river gave Giannakelos the back door flush to bring Hertzog's tournament to a close and stack Giannakelos up to 110,000.

Graham Eliminated by Kaya

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 0 ante
Jarred Graham (earlier in the series)
Jarred Graham (earlier in the series)

Jarred Graham raised to 7,000 from the cutoff and was called by Yalcin Kaya in the small blind.

The flop came {10-Hearts}{a-Hearts}{3-Spades} and Kaya checked. Graham moved all-in for his remaining 2,900. Kaya called.

Kaya: {9-Hearts}{10-Spades}{j-Spades}{q-Diamonds}
Graham: {a-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}

Graham had the lead with a pair on the flop and improved to trip aces after the {a-Spades} dropped on the turn.

The {6-Spades} would spike on the river, giving Kaya the winning hand with a flush, resulting in Graham hitting the rail.

Larsson Busts Smith

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 0 ante

Several late arrivals are still trickling in, and as yet there is no sign of chip leader Kamyar Ekrami and his stack is sitting unpiloted over on table 22. This means there are currently five stacks and four players on this table, with Mikael Larsson busting Matthew Smith not long after play restarted to reduce the field.

Larsson and Smith tangled on an {a-}{q-Hearts}{7-Hearts} flop, Larsson's {q-}{j-}{7-}{5-} out flopping Smith's {a-}{k-}{k-}{j-} to send the latter to the rail.
