Top 5 Casino Movies You Must Watch

Level 6 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

There has been no shortage of movies over the decades portraying the glamor, grit, and decadence of the casino world, from high-stakes nosebleeds to underground games.

Some of the movies that provide the most honest, hilarious, or entertaining looks at the gambling world include Ocean's Eleven (2001), Owning Mahowny (2003), The Cooler (2003), The Hangover (2009), Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (1998) and Uncut Gems (2019).

But none of these great movies made PokerNews' list of the five best casino movies of all time.

Note: This list deliberately does not include any poker movies, so don't get angry when you don't see classics Rounders and Mississippi Grind. PokerNews already made a list of the five best poker movies of all time.

Elias Sends Opponent To The Rail

Level 6 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

The action was picked up when an early position player moved all in for close to 30,000 and was called by Darren Elias on the button with a bigger stack.

Opponent: {6-Spades}{6-Diamonds}
Darren Elias: {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}

The board ran out {7-Clubs}{5-Spades}{4-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} and the tens for Elias held up to send his opponent to the exit.

"Don't Tell My Mom"

Level 6 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

A completed board of {q-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{4-Clubs} was laid out on the table with around 60,000 chips in the middle. Alex Foxen was in the big blind and shoved all in for 44,800.

"I'm not slow-rolling you, but I have a big hand," David Cabrera Polop said from the button. "It might be a nit-roll."

Cabrera Polop proceeded to go in the tank for a couple of minutes as he contemplated his decision. Foxen remained stoic throughout and Cabrera Polop eventually showed his {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts} as he laid it in the muck.

"Don't tell my mom I'm folding this hand," Cabrera Polop continued. "Don't tell anybody."

"It's safe with me," Foxen replied with a grin on his face.

Chehata Steps Out but Gets Rewarded

Level 6 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

Ashraf Chehata raised to 1,700 on the button and the big blind three-bet to 7,000. Chehata slid out a stack of 5,000 chips and his opponent called off the last 41,700 in his stack.

Opponent: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}
Ashraf Chehata: {q-Clubs}{10-Spades}

The flop came {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{q-Hearts} and Chehata flopped three queens to take a big lead in the hand. The {3-Hearts} and {6-Spades} runout changed nothing as Chehata added to his growing stack.

Miller Makes Hero Call For Tournament Life

Level 6 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

The action was picked up in a heads-up pot with close to 100,000 in the middle on a completed board showing {9-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}. Jordyn Miller checked from middle position to Jared Jaffee on the button who moved all in for 47,000, just covering the 36,000 remaining for Miller, who went deep in the tank.

After close to a minute, Miller made the call and the cards were shown. Jaffee rolled over {k-Hearts}{j-Spades} for king-high and Miller confidently tabled {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} for the hero call with only one pair to score a massive double up.

Lucky River Keeps Farnes Alive

Level 6 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

On a board reading {8-Spades}{8-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{a-Hearts}, three players got all of their chips in the middle. The short stack was all in for 30,600 and turned over {2-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} for a full house, which had both of his opponents nearly dead. The big stack held {k-Hearts}{4-Hearts} for the nut flush while Jeffrey Farnes was all in for 41,800 with {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}.

Farnes was standing up from his seat when the {a-Diamonds} hit the river. Farnes rivered a bigger full house to eliminate the short stack and double-up through the bigger stack.
