Frankenberger Shoves on Tran Before the Break

On the last hand before the break, there was a multi-way pot on Table 31 where the flop came {a-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{6-Spades}. JC Tran led out with a bet of 6,000 and was called by the player on his left. Andy Frankenberg raised to 25,000 and only Tran called.

The turn brought the {j-Clubs} and Tran checked to Frankenberger who ripped all in for 113,000. Tran gave it some thought but decided to lay his hand down.

The remaining 124 players are now heading on their first 15-minute break of the day.

Patrick Truong opened to 5,500 on the button and Brett Apter three-bet to 19,000 in the small blind. Truong responded with a four-bet to 45,500 and Apter just called.

The flop came {4-Hearts}{2-Spades}{2-Hearts} and Apter check-called a bet of 20,000 from Truong. The {3-Spades} peeled off on the turn and Apter checked again. Truong counted out another bet of 45,000 which sent Apter into the tank. After a couple of minutes, Apter finally decided to release his cards and Truong collected the pot.

Phong Nguyen opened to 6,000 in middle position and picked up three callers along the way including Ken O'Donnell in the big blind. The flop fell {j-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{2-Diamonds} and Nguyen continued with a bet of 17,500. The action folded back to O'Donnell who shipped all in for around 60,000 and Nguyen snap-called.

O'Donnell flopped top pair but it was no match for the overpair of Nguyen. The {6-Clubs} and {q-Diamonds} runout changed nothing and O'Donnell headed to the exit.

Poker Legend “Miami” John Cernuto Claims Wynn Millions $1,100 Limit Omaha 8/B Title

On March 1, the 2023 Wynn Millions hosted its $1,100 Limit Omaha 8/B $50K GTD, which nearly doubled the guarantee as 98 runners generated a $95,060 prize pool. The top 11 players made the money, and the two to fall short of the final table were Duke Viveros and Clyde Gaskins, who each received $2,567 for finishing in 10th and 11th place respectively.

At the final table, two poker legends worked a deal in Ari Engel and “Miami” John Cernuto. The former wound up taking second place for $23,903, while the latter won the trophy and took $25,851 in prize money. It was just the latest victory on Cernuto’s impressive poker résumé, which dates back to 1987 according to the Hendon Mob.

Picking up the action on the turn with the board reading {8-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}, Nicholas Bond and Michael Del Vecchio were heads-up in a pot of around 50,000. Bond checked to Del Vecchio who counted out a bet of 46,000 and Bond called.

The river was the {a-Hearts} and Bond checked again. Del Vecchio gave it some thought but decided to check it back. Bond flashed the {k-Clubs} but Del Vecchio tabled {a-Spades}{10-Hearts} for a rivered pair of aces.
