Miner Finds Gold in the $600 2-7 Mixed Limits

WSOP bracelet winners doing well at the Wynn was a theme on Saturday, after Ben Miner took down the $600 2-7 Mixed Limits event at the Wynn Summer Classic in Las Vegas, topping a 44-entry field to earn $10,500 and secure the title after a six-handed final table.

Miner defeated Steve Hyung heads-up, who banked $6,750, while Daniel Sprung finished in third place for $4,800.

Elsewhere at the final table, there was a great performance from PokerNews royalty in the form of Brett Slezak, who will be swapping the Wynn for the Horseshoe & Paris next week, bringing his expert brand of reporting to another WSOP summer.

WSOP-bracelet winner Maxx Coleman won the $1,100 Mixed Triple Draw at the Wynn Summer Classic in Las Vegas for $21,110 after topping a 70-entry field.

The tournament generated a $67,550 prize pool, comfortably surpassing the $50,000 guarantee, a theme of the series so far this summer.

A final tablist at the WPT World Championship in December 2025, Coleman defeated Patrick Quealy heads-up, while Timothy Wong finished in third place.

The headline event of the day is the opening flight of the $1,100 No-Limit Hold’em, which comes with a hefty $1,000,000 guarantee. Day 1A kicks off at noon, with a turbo Day 1B flight following later in the evening at 6 p.m. as players begin their chase for a huge guarantee on the Wynn summer calendar.

Mixed-game players also have plenty to look forward to with the start of the two-day $1,100 Limit Omaha 8, featuring a $50,000 guarantee and expected to attract another strong specialist field.

Two Wynn Summer Classic events are down to the final two tables, with big stacks assembling ahead of what should be a busy Saturday in Las Vegas.

The $1,100 Mixed Triple Draw event has played down to its final eight players from a 77-entry field, with Timothy Wong leading the way on 555,000 chips heading into the final day. Wong sits narrowly ahead of Byung Shin (462,000) and mixed game specialist Maxx Coleman (456,000), while the returning lineup also includes Patrick Quealy and Schuyler Thornton.

The tournament generated a $67,550 prize pool, comfortably surpassing its $50,000 guarantee, with the final eight returning at noon local time to play down to a winner.

Poker Hall of Famer Billy Baxter Among Big Stacks in $500k Gtd NLH Event

The first two starting flights of the $600 NLH event with a $500,000 guarantee attached are in the books at the Wynn Summer Classic in Las Vegas, and leading the way is Karo Nuri with a stack of 844,000.

Other big stacks from Day 1A and Day 1B include Avery Williams, Satish Surapaneni, and none other than Poker Hall of Famer Billy Baxter. Also among those who bagged in the event are Matt Glantz, Brian Green and Yang Lu.

Baxter, who was inducted into the Poker HOF in 2006, is a veteran poker player who was close friends with the late Doyle Brunson. Back in 2023, Baxter spoke with PokerNews about his memories with the Godfather of Poker.

There are still several starting flights left to play out in the $500,000 guaranteed event, including two taking place today.
