Matthias De Meulder opened to 1,350 from the cutoff and Bernd Vogelhuber called straight away from the button. The small blind got out of the way and Raul Paez stuck around from the big blind.

The trio took in a flop of {9-Spades}{4-Hearts}{K-Clubs} and Paez checked. De Meulder fired out a c-bet of 1,825 and Vogelhuber quickly called. Paez thought for a moment before sliding out a check-raise to 4,250. De Meulder opted not to play any further and Vogelhuber followed suit. Paez was awarded the pot and now sits on about 27,000.

With this small hit, De Meulder is now down to about 51,000.

Stack Power

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante
Dominik Nitsche
Dominik Nitsche

Utilising the size of your stack is a powerful tool in poker.

Dominik Nitsche has a six-figure stack and used that, in position, to take on the other biggest stack at his table. Even though Pietro Paolo Sibione had a similar sized stack he must've been wary taking on Nitsche out position. Nitsche can use that psychology to his advantage.

Sibione opened to 1,300 from second position and called when Nitsche three-bet to 3,500 from the hijack. The flop fell {2-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} and Sibione snap folded to a 3,300 c-bet from the triple crowning hunting starlet.

Sick Turn, Sicker River

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante

Fresh off of a preflop war, Sebastian Trisch opened to 1,100 in middle position. Maksim Lavrov three-bet to 3,000 two spots to Trisch's left, and the action folded back to Trisch, who four-bet to 5,300. Lavrov tanked for the better part of 90 seconds before five-betting to 9,100, and Trisch made the call.

The dealer fanned {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}, Trisch checked, and Lavrov continued for 11,000. Trisch check-shoved for roughly 25,000, and Lavrov made the call.

Trisch: {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}
Lavrov: {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs}

Lavrov sighed at the sight of Trisch's aces, but the {j-Spades} turned, giving the Ukrainian a leading set of jacks. It was Trisch's turn to pout, but instead he flashed a smile and reached for chips to send to Lavrov.

There was no need for Trisch to send chips to anyone, however, because the {a-Diamonds} spiked on the river to give him a set of aces. Lavrov threw his hands on his head in disbelief, then slowly gather his things and exited.

Trisch raked in the 70,000-chip pot, and now sits with around 95,000.

Adams Family

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante

Board: {10-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{4-Hearts}

Timothy Adams was heads up in the hand with Azad Jabrayilov. Adams fired out 3,200 on the turn and Jabrayilov stuck around to see the river.

The dealer completed the board with the {8-Clubs} and Adams slowed down with a check. After a moment Jabrayilov decided to check behind. Adams rolled over {K-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for top pair and Jabrayilov threw away his cards. Adams scooped up the pot and is now sitting on about 25,000 while Jabrayilov has fallen to 80,000.

Small Pick Up For Seiver

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante

We caught up to see the board read {9-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{j-Spades}{5-Hearts} with about 5,000 in the middle. With three players still in the hand, there was a check to Scott Seiver who bet 2,200. Ali Azabdaftar called and the first player to act folded.

Seiver showed {Q-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} for top pair and Azabdaftar mucked. Seiver dragged in the pot and now has about 50,500 in chips.

Big Stacks

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante

With just under 90 minutes left in the day we've done a sweep of the room and found these big stacks.

Litvinov Fires

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante
Artem Litvinov
Artem Litvinov

An early position player made it 1,100 to go before the flop and received three calls including one from Artem Litvinov.

The dealer fanned {A-Spades}{J-Spades}{A-Clubs} and there were two checks to Litvinov. He bet 3,675 and just like that all three of his opponents shot their hands at the muck. Litvinov picked up the pot and is now sitting on 40,000 in chips.
