Geilich's a Goner

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

The board read {10-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} on the turn when we saw Ludovic Geilich all in for his tournament life. It looked like Luuk Gieles had bet 2,100 after which Geilich had shoved for 7,300 and the Dutchman made the call.

Gieles: {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}
Geilich: {A-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}

The river was the {4-Clubs} and Geilich wished everyone a "good game," before exiting the tournament room.

Luft Rivers Straight

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

Fabio Sperling confirmed the elimination of Gereon Sowa, who got his last 5,000 chips in with pocket sixes and failed to improve against an opponent's pocket tens.

Antonio Luft also did what the chip leaders usually do, and took care of a short stack. Tamer Kamel had limped and Luft raised to 900 with {9-Spades} {10-Spades} before calling the shove of David Cossio-Ruiz for 3,250. Kamel had folded {Q-} {J-} and Luft got there against {Q-Hearts} {9-Hearts} on a board of {Q-Spades} {J-} {X-Spades} {J-} {K-}.

Reinkemeier Bluffs Big

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

We missed the precise pre flop action, we were just in time to see Reinekemeier call a big raise out of position to see a flop of {10-Hearts}{2-Spades}{3-Clubs}.

The pot was already up to around 14,000 when Reinkemeier checked. His neighbor Rasmus Larsen made a bet of 5,700. Reinkemeier thought for some time before calling.

Reinkemeier checked again on the {9-Spades} turn and Larsen checked behind after some tanking.

The {8-Clubs} completed the board and Reinkemeier announced 'all in' for about 17,300. Larsen thought for quite some time before releasing his hand.

Reinkemeier showed {A-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}.

"I thought you said you never showed" Larsen laughed.

"Just one time" Reinkemeier replied with an even bigger smile.

Filatov Takes a Big Hit

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

The star of Team Russia during the Global Poker Masters, Anatoly Filatov, has just taken a big hit in the fifth level of play.

When we arrived on the scene a raising war had transpired and Filatov called the shove of his opponent, seated to his direct right.

Filatov: {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}
Opponent: {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}

The board ran out {8-Spades}{8-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{2-Hearts} and Filatov dropped to below the starting stack. Also at this table we spotted former EPT Deauville champ Sotirios Koutoupas, WSOP bracelet winner Simeon Naydenov and Rasmus Vogt.

Simunic at Half the Starting Stack

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

It is not necessarily the comfort of Josip Simunic yet after the Austrian had returned to Day 3 of the EPT 11 Deauville High Roller with only three and a half big blinds and turned them into victory. However, Simunic only has half the stack remaining that he once received after buying into today's Main Event.

One of the latest hands saw him flat-calling a raise to 700 out of the big blind and another player had called as well in middle position. The original raise came from the player in under the gun and the latter check-called a bet of 1,025 on the {J-Hearts} {7-Spades} {5-Diamonds} flop by the cold-caller. Simunic mucked his cards and so did the preflop aggressor after the {9-Spades} turn.

More for Luft

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante
Antonio Luft
Antonio Luft

The board was already complete, reading {2-Clubs} {K-Hearts} {10-Diamonds} {A-Clubs} {8-Spades} and Antonio Luft bet 16,000 into a pot of around 18,000. From one seat over, David Cossio-Ruiz pondered about his decision and eventually called to then muck once the Brazilian showed {Q-Hearts} {J-Spades} for the nuts. Ami Barer sighed and then laughed for a second before turning his attention to the next hand.

Katchalov Shoves

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

Farid Chati opened for 700 from the cutoff. Eugene Katchalov on the button three bet to 1,800 and both blinds quickly folded. Chati opted to four bet to 4,500 and action was back on the Ukrainian PokerStars Team Pro. Katchalov shoved and Chati immediately released.
