Rund and Mircetic Chop It Up

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Play folded to David "ODB" Baker in the cutoff seat, and he raised to 24,000. Nikola Mircetic called from the small blind, and Kevin Rund called out of the big blind.

The trio took the {A-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} flop, and play checked to Baker. He bet 24,000, and Mircetic and Rund both called.

The turn was the {2-Clubs} before all three players checked to see the {K-Hearts} land on the river. Mircetic checked, Rund bet 64,000, Baker folded, and Mircetic called.

Mircetic showed the {A-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}, and Rund had the {A-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}. Both players two pair, aces and nines, with the king kicker on the board and chopped up the pot.

Dong Folds After Clock Called

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

From the cutoff seat, Zelong Dong raised to 24,000. Nikola Mircetic reraised to 64,000 from the big blind, and Dong made the call to see the {8-Spades}{8-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} flop roll out. After Mircetic bet 24,000, Dong raised to 64,000. Mircetic called.

The turn was the {6-Hearts}, and both players checked to see the {2-Diamonds} land on the river. Mircetic fired 45,000, and Dong went into the tank for a couple of minutes. Eventually, Danny Fuhs called the clock. After about a half a minute more of thought, Dong folded, and Mircetic won the pot.

"Good bluff," said Dong.

"I don't bluff," responded Mircetic.

Barlow Finds Aces for a Double

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

From early position, Antonio Garcia opened with a raise to 25,000. Jake Haller called from the next seat, Matt Lapossie called on the button, and Joseph Skinner called from the small blind, before Lou Barlow reraised all in from the big blind for 268,000. Garcia called, and everyone else folded.

Barlow showed the {A-Spades}{K-Clubs}, but he was behind the {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs} for the at-risk Barlow.

The {J-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{2-Clubs} flop kept Barlow in front, but the {Q-Hearts} on the turn gave Garcia a Broadway straight to put him in front. The {3-Clubs} on the river changed it back to that Barlow had the best hand, and that gave him the win to double him up over 600,000. Garcia was clipped back to 430,000 or so.

Wang Busts Gooch

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Michael Wang (Day 1b)
Michael Wang (Day 1b)

From under the gun, Jason Gooch raised all in for 67,000. Michael Wang was in the next seat and called. Action then folded to Olivier Busquet on the button, and he gave it some thought for a little bit before he folded. It looked as though Busquet was contemplating a reshove with his stack of around 350,000. Everyone else folded, and it was Gooch's {4-Spades}{4-Hearts} up against Wang's {K-Spades}{K-Clubs}.

"Wow," said Busquet with a sigh of relief.

The board ran out {A-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{2-Spades}, and Wang won the pot to bust Gooch.

"I almost played really bad and got there," said Busquet, hinting that if he had shove she would've cracked Wang's kings and won.
