Boatman on Board

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante

Earlier today, Sinem Melin tweeted that she was on the way to Brussels with Barny Boatman to play the WPT National Main Event and she was already spotted on the rail now, coming over to say hi to Charles Chattha.

Omar Lakhdari three-bet an open raise of Boatman from 1,500 to 5,750 and was called before the {5-Diamonds} {3-Hearts} {K-Diamonds} appeared. Boatman called a bet of 1,125 before giving up to the second barrel of his opponent on the {6-Spades} turn. Lakhdari had bet another 6,600 and scooped the pot.

Game Over for Darcourt

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante
Guillaume Darcourt
Guillaume Darcourt

After a raise to 1,500 by the player in under the gun, Guillaume Darcourt moved all in for 14,000 out of the big blind on his new table. He was snap-called by the initial raiser with {A-Clubs} {K-Diamonds} and the Frenchman only had ace-queen. The board ran out {Q-Clubs} {J-Clubs} {8-Diamonds} {6-Spades} {K-Spades} and that was it for Darcourt, though he will be back tomorrow for Day 1b.

Neuville on the Rise

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante

Table 12 has been moved into the main tournament area and still features an explosive mix. Pierre Neuville has recovered nicely and scooped the blinds and antes with a raise to 1,700. Shortly after, Candido Goncalves limped and so did Neuville. The action went to Giacomo Fundaro in the blinds and his huge raise to 6,500 shut down all further action.

Secondary Area Closed

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante

The upper tables of 13 and higher have now all been closed and will feature in the €170 Main Event Satellite. Among those trying to find a new home were Guillaume Darcourt and Paul Hofer. The Frenchman was suddenly down to only 8,000 chips whereas Hofer is among the leaders.

Oops

Level 7 : 250/500, 75 ante

After the river of a {6-Spades} {A-Diamonds} {9-Clubs} {4-Hearts} {2-Hearts} board, Carlos Lopes moved all in for 13,500 chips into a pot of 16,000 and was snap-called by Jan Brandejs. Lopes was still listening to music and didn't hear at first that he had been caught before flipping over his {3-Hearts} {3-Diamonds}. Brandejs turned over the {A-Hearts} {A-Clubs} and Lopes was sent to the rail.

He can now play the Satellite to get into Day 1b for less than the full buy in.

Bosmans Catches Semi-Bluff

Level 7 : 250/500, 75 ante

Pieter Bosmans raised to 1,250 preflop and was called by Bart Lybaert in the big blind. Both players checked the {J-Hearts} {8-Clubs} {J-Diamonds} flop before Lybaert bet the {2-Hearts} turn for 2,000. Bosmans made the call and Lybaert wasn't willing to fire again after the {4-Spades} river. His {Q-Hearts} {9-Hearts} was no good in showdown, as Bosmans had that beat with {A-Clubs} {3-Spades}.

Deuces Never Loses

Level 7 : 250/500, 75 ante

After a three-way flop of {3-Diamonds} {K-Clubs} {4-Hearts}, Adam Owen bet 600 and was called by initial preflop aggressor Karim Benamrouche, the player in the small blind folded. The {4-Spades} turn and {5-Spades} river both got checked through and the Brit announced queen-high. Benamrouche turned over {2-Spades} {2-Diamonds} and scooped the pot.

One hand later, Benamrouche raised to 1,500 and was called by three opponents including Mohamed Mamouni. On the {6-Clubs} {3-Diamonds} {A-Hearts} flop only Mamouni called a bet of 1,500 by Benamrouche before the two of them checked the {4-Hearts} on the turn. Mamouni then made it 5,050 to go after Benamrouche had checked the {8-Spades} river and was eventually paid off, scooping the pot with {5-Spades} {7-Clubs} for the nut straight.

While Benamrouche dropped some chips on the second hand, he is still among the biggest stacks right now.

"If you shove, I fold"

Level 7 : 250/500, 75 ante

Candido Goncalves raised to 1,100 and Omar Lakhdari three-bet to 2,500 from one seat over. In French, Lakhdari said to his opponent "If you shove, I fold" but Goncalves called instead to see the flop of {6-Diamonds} {5-Clubs} {8-Spades}. Goncalves check-called a bet of 2,000 and the {2-Clubs} turn got checked through. The {7-Spades} river saw a bet of 4,500 by Goncalves and Lahkdari folded, getting shown the {9-Spades} for a straight. "Is that good enough? I guess it wins" Goncalves joked back just to rub it in.

Welcome to the Table, Mister Lopes

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante

Paul Hofer raised to 1,100 and Carlos Lopes, who had just arrived, three-bet to 2,700. A short stack moved all in for 13,725 and both Hofer and Lopes snap-folded. The short stack flashed the {J-Clubs} {J-Spades}.
