Three-way to the 7♦2♣2♦ flop, it checked to James Romero in the cutoff. He added 3,000 to the pot of 16,000 with a bet, only to be raised by Oleksandr Kandyba under the gun. Kandyba made it 13,000, folding out Mary Dubois in early position.
Romero thought for a while before he called, and the 5♥ was placed on the turn. Kandyba quickly moved all in, and Romero snap-called for his stack of 36,000.
James Romero: K♠K♦
Oleksandr Kandyba: Q♥Q♣
The river fell the innocent 3♥. Romero's kings held doubling him up and leaving Kandyba with just over half a starting stack.
Stefan Petrov checked from the small blind on the turn of a board showing 3♠A♣10♣K♥, and Daniel Rezaei checked behind from the cutoff.
The K♠ paired the board on the river, and Petrov led out for 1,000. Rezaei smiled, tossed in the calling chip, and then mucked after Petrov tabled K♦Q♥ for trip kings.
With roughly 8,000 in the pot already, and a 7♣2♦Q♥ flop face up on the felt, John Costiniano check-called a bet of 4,000 in the small blind, placed by Duncan Horst in the cutoff.
Both players checked the 7♠ turn, but when Costiniano checked again on the 9♣ river, Horst put another 9,000 into the middle. Costiniano called again, and when Horst tabled A♠A♣, Costiniano flipped over A♦Q♣, revealing that he could perhaps have lost more than he did.
Raymond Mahar opened to 1,600 from middle position and Frank Covich, who was sitting to Mahar's direct left made the call.
The 10♣3♣6♥ flop saw Mahar bet 3,100 and Covich jammed for 10,200 putting himself at risk for his tournament life. Mahar made the call, and the pair went to showdown.
Frank Covich: 10♠8♥
Raymond Mahar: A♥A♣
Covich had flopped top pair, but it wasn't holding up against Mahar's pocket aces.
The Q♠ turn and 5♣ river locked up the pot for Mahar, and Covich was left to hit the rail just before the dinner break on Day 1c.
There were roughly 55,000 chips in the pot on a board of 3♦5♣J♣10♥8♣.
Christopher Economou who was in the big blind fired out a bet of 11,000, but then Tara Dunn who was in middle position went all in for 26,400.
Economou then thought about his decision for a moment and flicked in a chip to call. Dunn showed the nuts with A♣10♣, and scooped this pot worth over 100,000 chips.
Heads up to the J♥3♥K♥ flop, Fabian Quoss checked from the cutoff to Alex Goulder on the button, who bet 2,000 into the pot of 8,000. Quoss then raised to 7,000, and Goulder called.
Quoss fired 10,000 into the pot on the 2♦ turn. Goulder called again, seeing his opponent move all in on the 8♦ river.
Goulder's stack of 25,900 was covered, and he spent some time in the tank before he called off.
Quoss tabled J♦J♣ for a set of jacks, but Goulder had the higher set with K♠K♦ to rake in the big double-up.
"Sorry if my tank made you," Goulder began, but he could not finish his sentence as Quoss reassured him he would have tanked in this spot as well.
In a limped blind battle, Yaron Malki check-called a bet from Richard Ellis on the 9♦5♥2♣ flop.
On the K♠ turn, Ellis sized up to 1,400 before Malki check-raised to 5,000, and Ellis called after some deliberation.
The Q♠ landed on the river as Malki led for 8,800, and Ellis quickly called. Malki shrugged as he conceded the pot to Ellis who tabled 9♥2♠, and his flopped two pair was good the whole way as he left Malki on a short stack.
Daniel Iachan limped in from the small blind and called when Samara Hancock raised to 1,000 in the big blind.
The 3♥7♦5♥ flop saw the action check through, tempting Iachan to lead out for 600 on the J♣ turn, which Hancock called.
After seeing the Q♦ land on the river, Iachan slowed down with a check. This time, Hancock bet, putting 2,000 into the middle. Iachan called, but ended up mucking his cards when Hancock revealed she had rivered two pair with Q♥J♦.
Vitaly Kovyazin opened to 1,000 from under the gun and got four callers preflop, including Dan Bilzerian and Donald Procto early position, Scott Reginatto on the button, and Fabrizio Rosa in the small blind to create a five-handed pot.
The 9♣2♦A♦ flop was checked around to Reginatto, who bet 1,700. It folded to Bilzerian, who countered with a check-raise to 6,000. The only customer was Reginatto, while every other player folded.
Bilzerian kept up the betting on the J♠ turn; this time, it was to the tune of 11,000. Reginatto made the call.
The A♥ river did not deter Bilzerian, as he put out a third barrel of 15,000.
Reginatto snap called and showed 2♠2♣. Bilzerian did not show his hand as Reginatto took in the healthy pot.
