Barracano Finds an Ace to Crack Song's Jacks

Level 36 : Blinds 300,000/600,000, 600,000 ante
Lionel Barracano
Lionel Barracano

When it folded to Lionel Barracano, the shortest stack among the five remaining players, in the small blind, he jammed for 7,900,000. Kevin Song looked down at his cards and again went into a long tank from the big blind.

After mulling it over for nearly three minutes, Song said, "Ok, let's gamble," before slamming in the call.

Lionel Barracano: A8 All in
Kevin Song: JJ

Song had made the right call with pocket jacks, and Barracano was left needing an ace or some clubs to stay alive.

Song stayed in front on the 64K flop, but the A on the turn catapulted Barracano into the lead with top pair. The 8 river changed nothing, and Barracano doubled up into second in chips.

Birnbaum and McMullin Chipping Up

Level 35 : Blinds 250,000/500,000, 500,000 ante

Lionel Barracano raised to 1,200,000 on the button and Nancy Birnbaum three-bet jammed in the big blind to put Barracano at risk, who had 6,250,00 back. Barracano tossed his cards into the muck.

The next hand, Paul McMullin open-shoved from under the gun for 8,525,000, resulting in folds all around.

Barracano Folds to Birnbaum's Bet; Barracano Wins the Blinds

Level 35 : Blinds 250,000/500,000, 500,000 ante

Nancy Birnbaum raised to 1,100,000 from the cutoff, and Lionel Barracano defended from the big blind.

Barracano knuckled the action over to Birnbaum on the 74K flop, and she fired out a bet of 1,600,000. Barracano elected to fold, surrendering the pot to Birnbaum.

A few hands later, Barracano jammed for 6,300,000 from the hijack. Kevin Song went deep into the tank for nearly three minutes on the button before deciding the best route was to fold, allowing Barracano to pick up some much-needed blinds and ante.

McMullin and Birnbaum Chop It

Level 35 : Blinds 250,000/500,000, 500,000 ante

Paul McMullin open-jammed in the cutoff for 8,050,000 and was called by Nancy Birnbaum in the big blind, who covered.

Paul McMullin: AQ All in
Nancy Birnbaum: AQ

Birnbaum was calling for spades but neither player was able to find a flush, resulting in a split pot.

Birnbaum's Rail Erupts

Level 35 : Blinds 250,000/500,000, 500,000 ante

With six players remaining, not many flops have been seen this level.

Kevin Song and Donald Briggs both raised their buttons and picked up the blinds uncontested, before Paul McMullin shoved for 6,150,000 from the cutoff and also took it down preflop.

The next hand, Song made it 1,100,000 on the button and Nancy Birnbaum jammed for 7,150,000 from the small blind.

As soon as Birnbaum moved all in, she turned to her rail and shouted, "We're all-in, we're all-in!"

Song asked the dealer for an exact count, and once it was confirmed, he folded, resulting in an eruption from Birnbaum's rail.

Alexander Dovzhenko Eliminated in 6th Place ($76,683)

Level 35 : Blinds 250,000/500,000, 500,000 ante
Alexander Dovzhenko
Alexander Dovzhenko

Alexander Dovzhenko raised to 1,450,000 in the small blind and Kevin Song defended in the big blind.

The flop came 4A7, Dovzhenko bet 900,000 and Song called, bringing the K turn.

Dovzhenko moved all in to put himself at risk and after asking for a count, Song made the call of 4,250,000.

Alexander Dovzhenko: Q6 All in
Kevin Song: A9

When the cards were tabled, Song saw that he had Dovzhenko drawing dead, and the meaningless 2 completed the board.
