Souther Makes Quads to Increase His Stack Eightfold

Level 26 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Arthur Morris called under the gun, and Jiyang Gan did the same on his left. William Souther moved all in for exactly 60,000, with Benjamin Skelley and Brian Kirschner calling behind. Alex Manzano checked his big blind.

The KK9 flop checked through, prompting Morris to bet out for 125,000 on the 7 turn. Only Skelley called, and they checked the J river down.

"Jack-nine-seven" announced Morris, tabling Jx9x7xXx. Skelley showed QQ74 for the side pot. Unbelievably, right when he needed it most, Souther tabled KK83 for flopped quads, as he lived to fight another day.

Scherer Triples His Fun

Level 26 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Action was picked up after the preflop betting, where Idan Raviv was all in for 2,480,000 from late position, Robert Scherer was all in from the small blind for 1,325,000, and Kurtis Ruhl had called both players from the cutoff.

Robert Scherer: 7755 All in
Idan Raviv: AAJ5 All in
Kurtis Ruhl: J1098

The board ran out with 7K485. Scherer held the best hand, a full house, and tripled his stack.

Raviv held the second-best hand and won a small side pot for 1,255,000 with two pair.

Bansal Closing in on Ten Milly Mark; Sends Brunner to the Cage

Level 26 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante
Paawan Bansal

It was heads up to the flop of 327 with 900,000 sat in the pot.

Brian Brunner checked to Paawan Bansal, who bet out for full pot, 900,000.

Brunner went deep into the tank for three to four minutes before he raised all in for about 300,000 more. Bansal snap-called.

Brian Brunner: 7544 All in
Paawan Bansal: AAK4

Bansal was ahead with his aces, but Brunner had plenty of outs to hit to stay alive.

The 3 peeled off on the turn and changed nothing, and when the river bricked out with the J it was curtains for Brunner. He was sent to the rail whilst Bansal raked in the monster pot to edge up close to the ten million chips mark.

Batra Barters

Level 26 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Shawn Stroke, having just knocked out two players, managed to score yet another elimination, rivering a set to best Bryan Obregon's top pair.

Sameer Batra, to his left, offered Stroke a cool $3,000 for whatever the mystery bounty prize was. "You must hate money!" commented Robert Elias upon finding out that Stroke said no to the deal.

He had his phone out, recording, only to see the bad news that a minimum bounty of $500 was his reward.

Stroke Scoops with Spades

Level 26 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Action was picked up on a flop of J48. Big blind Peter Walsworth announced "all in," but was stopped by the dealer given his 680,00 stack was 5,000 more than pot. Early position Tyler Brown called, then Shawn Stroke to his left repotted, covering both opponents. Brown called all in.

Peter Walsworth: AKJ4 All in
Tyler Brown: KQ108 All in
Shawn Stroke: AQ109

Despite holding three himself, Stroke went runner-runner spade to hit the nut flush, and secure a double elimination. He was rewarded with a $1,000 bounty and a $500 bounty for his efforts.

Gan Snatches Another Bounty

Level 25 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Jiyang Gan brought it in under the gun for 175,000 chips. William Souther made the call from middle position.

Brian Woodbury raised all in from the small blind, and Gan re-raised it all in for 1,575,000.

Souther hesitated for a bit, then slammed a stack down and said, "Let's go."

Brian Woodbury: KK98All in
Jiyang Gan: AA106All in
William Souther: AJJ2

The flop hit A63, with Gan flopping a set of aces. With no one holding a flush or straight draw, he was in good shape.

The turn and river 5Q didn't change anything and he dragged the pot and a bounty, and left Souther shortstacked.

No Sweat for Hubert

Level 25 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Action was picked up on the turn, with Robert Elias and Byron Hubert all in from the big blind and early position respectively.

Byron Hubert: AAQ4 All in
Robert Elias: XxXxXxXx

As the board ran out 51062A Elias had already turned his hand over on the turn, as he was dead to the aces of Hubert. For good measure, Hubert rivered the second nuts.

Elias was kind enough to show KJ94 to PokerNews. "I squeezed from the big blind. I didn't fly here to fold," he mentioned.
