Eric Tsai
Eric Tsai

Punnat Punsri opened from the hijack to 120,000 and Eric Tsai moved all in for his remaining 1,320,000. Punsri made the call and the players flipped their cards.

Eric Tsai: 22All in
Punnat Punsri: KQ

Tsai was looking to hold, and the J28 flop saw him improve to a set. The 3 turn and 7 river saw to his double-up with little sweat, and he took a chunk from Punsri's stack.

"Do You Like Puzzles?"

Level 26 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Maurice Hawkins
Maurice Hawkins

The dealer was already counting out Maurice Hawkins's all-in for 2,360,000 after he just secured a full double-up from the big blind. He was against Anthony Ibrahim who had him covered from the hijack.

Maurice Hawkins: A3All in
Anthony Ibrahim: AA

The pot stood at around 400,000 and the board had run out 94257 with Hawkins turning the straight. Ibrahim sat back with just 730,000 after the hand, putting him down to under ten big blinds.

When the dealer was counting out the stack another player at the table looked to Hawkins and said "Do you like puzzles?" He continued to move the three of diamonds towards the board and placed it on top of the turn card and continued "You found the right piece right there!"

Hawkins replied, "Notice how I didn't force it. It just fit right in."

Ibrahim Eliminated by Samual

Level 26 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Darius Samual
Darius Samual

Anthony Ibrahim went all-in for 730,000 from under the gun to get the hand started. Darius Samual made the call out of the small blind to put Ibrahim at risk.

Anthony Ibrahim: A9All in
Darius Samual: AK

Ibrahim was in a world of hurt against the better ace of Samual.

The flop brought little relief for Ibrahim when it came 54J to keep Samual in the lead.

Samual kept his lead on the 2 turn, but it did present some chop outs between the two competitors.

A chop was not meant to be as the 4 peeled on the river to award Samual the pot as Ibrahim exited the tournament.

Run Concludes for Hynam

Level 26 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Mitchell Hynam
Mitchell Hynam

The Day 2 chipleader's run at a WSOP title has concluded after Mitchell Hynam went all in for his remaining 600,000 from early position and was called by Darius Samual from the next seat over to be at risk for his tournament life.

Mitchell Hynam: 66All in
Darius Samual: AK

It was the classic battle of the pair versus the over cards, and the flop still had the pair winning when the dealer spread out 8710 to keep Hynam in the lead and give him outs to a straight.

The J was a safe turn for Hynam, but Samual gained some outs with a gutshot to a Broadway straight.

Samual got there on the Q river to eliminate Hynam from contention.

La Francesca Takes with Sevens

Level 26 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Alessio La Francesca
Alessio La Francesca

Alessio La Francesca opened to 160,000 from under the gun and Ehsan Amiri, who was sat to his direct left, was the only caller.

The 9K2 flop saw action check to the 5 turn, and La Francesca check-called a 175,000 bet by Amiri to see the 4 river complete the board.

Action was checked to showdown with La Francesca tabling his 77 for a pair of sevens, which was enough to see Amiri muck his hand.

Yang Ships it on Smith

Level 25 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante
Peter Yang
Peter Yang

The pot had already swelled to approximately 1,200,000 on a flop of 534 when this hand was picked up. Peter Yang checked from the under-the-gun position before William Smith followed with a bet of 700,000 on the button.

Yang decided to play for it all as he check-raised all in to put Smith on the spot for a decision for all his chips. Smith gave it considerable thought as he went into the tank to deliberate on what to do with the remaining 2,150,000 still behind.

Smith eventually tossed his cards in the muck to award a big pot to Yang who grew his stack to nearly eight million with that hand.

More Fade to the Felt

Level 25 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Rocco Dominates De Silva

Level 25 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante
Upeshka De Silva
Upeshka De Silva

Michael Rocco opened from middle position and action folded around to Upeshka De Silva who moved all in for around 990,000 in the big blind, leaving just a single 5,000 chip behind. Rocco moved all in and De Silva eventaully flicked in his final chip to put himself at risk of elimination.

Upeshka De Silva: AJAll in
Michael Rocco: 99

The 675 flop kept Rocco ahead and De Silva needed to find an ace or a jack to survive.

A 3 turn didn't change the standings and Rocco took yet another pot to maintain his lead in the tournament when the 5 was placed.

Labranche Doubles then Kelly Busts

Level 25 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

It was a rough sequence of hands for Conor Kelly as a clash with both Jonah Labranche and Petre Ionescu left him chipless as he exited the tournament.

Mitchell Hynam began the first hand with an open to 120,000 from under the gun. Conor Kelly went all-in for 1,110,000 from the next seat over before his neighbor Jonah Labranche also went all-in for 1,055,000. Hynam folded as Kelly and Labranche went to a showdown with Labranche at risk.

Jonah Labranche: AKAll in
Conor Kelly: AQ

Labranche held on the 28365 runout to double through Kelly and leave Kelly on crumbs.

Kelly shipped his final 55,000 the very next hand from under the gun before Petre Ionescu made it 165,000 from the hijack. Hynam defended his big blind as Kelly was at risk, while Ionescu and Hynam played a side pot.

Hynam checked the 722 flop before Ionescu continued for 125,000. Hynam called.

The 10 turn led to another check from Hynam. Ionescu followed with a bet of 225,000 before Hynam folded and sent Ionescu and Kelly to a showdown.

Conor Kelly: A4All in
Petre Ionescu: A7

Kelly had no hope of improving to win the hand, making the 5 river procedural as Kelly was eliminated from contention.
