Joan Crespi opened to 6,000 from under the gun and called when Denys Kuleba jammed for 55,000 from the cutoff.
Denys Kuleba: 8♦8♣
Joan Crespi: J♠J♣
Crespi hit a set on the J♦9♦2♥ flop, but Kuleba picked up a load of outs on the 7♦ turn. His combo draw failed to come in on the 4♠ river, and he was eliminated.
PokerNews' Brad Whitehouse Main Event run has come to end, getting rivered in a pot close to 490,000.
The under the gun player raised to 8,000 from under the gun. Whitehouse and Yevhen Korynetskyi called before the small blind shoved for 31,000. He was called in all three spots.
It checked to Whitehouse on the 10♥7♥6♠ flop, and he bet 40,000. Korynetskyi shoved as the big stack, folding out the original raiser. Whitehouse, who started the hand with 210,000, pondered his options before calling for his tournament life.
Whitehouse had a nut-flush draw and overcards to hit to stay alive. The J♠ turn gave him the lead to become one of the chip leaders in the room, but the 8♣ fell on the river to give Korynetskyi the straight for the checkmark and double KO.
Michael Moncek was on his twelfth and final bullet of the €5,300 WSOPE Main Event when he found himself all in and at risk for around 75,000 against Day 1a chip leader Aliaksei Boika.
Michael Moncek: A♦A♥
Aliaksei Boika: Q♣Q♠
Moncek was miles ahead, and left Boika needing to go runner-runner after making a set on the A♣10♣4♦ flop. The 6♣ turn gave Boika some hope with a flush draw, which came in when the 3♣ completed the board.
Moncek has used all of his reentries in the registration period, and will no longer be a competitor in the biggest WSOP Europe Main Event in history.
Rania Nasreddine opened from early position and Axel Bayout defended from the big blind. She continued for 7,000 on a flop of 6♥5♠3♠ but Bayout check-folded.
In the next hand, Bayout raised to 10,500 and was called by Paolo Boi in the big blind.
The dealer fanned a flop of 4♦5♣5♦ and Bayout bet 6,000. Boi however raised to 15,000, so Bayout went into the tank before re-raising to 35,000. Boi quickly called.
Bayout checked the K♦ turn. Boi bet 21,000 and Bayout quickly folded.
Bjorn Gravlien opened to 6,000 from middle position. Jose Boloqui in the cutoff three-bet to 18,000, then Bjorn Gravlien in the big blind jammed for 25,000. Gravlien folded and Boloqui made the call.
Chau Shing Lam: A♠K♥
Jose Boloqui: 8♠8♦
Lam was lucky enough to hit top pair on 7♥5♥A♣Q♦3♦ to double up.
Hossein Ensan limped in from the small blind before Nenad Cvetkovic made it 10,000 from the big blind. Ensan jammed for 54,000, and after some thinking time, Cvetkovic called off his stack of 44,500.
Nenad Cvetkovic: K♦J♣
Hossein Ensan: A♥K♠
Ensan's trap worked perfectly until Cvetkovic paired up on the J♠10♥3♣ flop. The K♣ turn kepy Cvetkovic ahead and he doubled up after the 9♣ river.
