Price Likes the Flop

Level 41 : Blinds 1,000,000/2,500,000, 2,500,000 ante

Deniz Oeney opened to 5,000,000 from the hijack, and action folded around to Toby Price in the big blind.

"Are we allowed to see a flop?" Price joked after several had were won preflop in the last orbit. Price called to see the Q63 flop, and led out for 6,000,000.

Oeney sent his cards into the muck, and Price picked up the pot.

On the next two hands, Craig Varnell got a pair of shoves through to pad his stack.

James Murphey raised all in with 23,000,000 chips from early position. Toby Price, seated to his immediate left, came over the top for 31,500,000.

Mauro Sosa, who was in the cutoff, counted out his chips and compared it to Price's bet. It was the exact same number. He considered his next move, then elected to fold.

James Murphey: A10All in
Toby Price: JJ

Murphey took the lead in the race on the flop of 2A8 with a pair of aces, but the diamonds kept coming.

The turn and river brought 57, giving both players a flush, but since Price had the suited jack in his hand, the pot was his.

Shoves from Sosa and Murphey

Level 40 : Blinds 1,000,000/2,000,000, 2,000,000 ante

Craig Varnell opened to 4,500,000 in the cutoff, and Mauro Sosa took some time in the big blind before moving all in for 35,000,000. Varnell confirmed the count and did not take long to let his hand go, as Sosa added to his stack.

Shortly after, James Murphey shoved his stack of 14,000,000 from the hijack and took down the pot as the rest of the table folded.

Fabian Niederreiter raised all in for some 10,000,000 chips from early position. The action folded to Michael Moncek, who made the call in the small blind.

Michael Moncek: A7

Niederreiter needed help, but his pair on the flop was lesser than Moncek's pair of aces. The full board 10A567 didn't give him what was needed.

It took almost no time, but as per usual, a player has been eliminated early in Level 1 at the 2026 World Series of Poker Main Event.

Anthony Marini picked up AK just after the World Championship event began and decided to gamble for his entire stack, while Ryan Sands didn't want his opponent to earn an early double-up.
